PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v NORTHAMPTON (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

KING’S Lynn return to action for the first time in five weeks when they host Northampton in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership tonight (Monday).

The Stars have been inactive as a team since May 11 but several of their riders have enjoyed individual success, including a GP victory for Max Fricke in Manchester and the one-two finish for reserves Cooper Rushen and Jody Scott in the British Under-21 Final.

They operate rider replacement for Paco Castagna, who is currently ruled out with a thumb injury.

Meanwhile the Foxes travel with a full team including a host of former King’s Lynn riders, with Niels-Kristian Iversen having missed their previous visit to the Adrian Flux Arena due to injury back in April.

Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “It feels like starting the season all over again after such a long break, and now it’s time to reset and focus on what’s to come.

“We still believe this can be a good season, but we need to show more consistency and we certainly need to be gating better as a team than we had been doing in the early weeks.

“On the positive, it’s been good to see the results of several riders on an individual basis recently, so there’s no reason why we should have anything to fear, and we’re looking for everyone to come to the party on Monday.”

Northampton boss Chris Adams said: “I’m really looking forward to going to King’s Lynn on Monday with a full team.

“Our first meeting of the season was there earlier this year and we came away with a 10-point loss. We are a much more confident team now we have settled a bit, and we have riders that are on form.

“We know it’s going to be a tough meeting, but I know the guys are looking to come away with some more league points and that will surely be our aim.”
