PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v NORTHAMPTON (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)
RESURGENT King’s Lynn host full-strength Northampton with both sides looking to make ground on the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership’s top four when they meet tonight (Monday).
The Stars raced to an impressive 54-36 win over Ipswich on Thursday in their best display of the season with new signing Jordan Jenkins making an immediate impact on his home debut.
Meanwhile the Foxes have their full one-to-seven on track for the first time in their 13th match in all competitions, with Matej Zagar returning after two months out with a broken ankle.
The last encounter between the sides in Norfolk saw the visitors lead by two points with three races to go, only for Max Fricke and Jan Kvech to steer the Stars to a win.
King’s Lynn manager Rob Lyon said: “We’ll be looking for the same sort of performance that we had on Thursday against Ipswich.
“I feel if we ride like that again, Northampton will have to ride exceptionally well to beat us, but we won’t be taking anything for granted.
“We have to keep that consistency going now, and push on from Thursday. We’ve had two meetings now with the change of line-up, I think it’s helped us and we want it to continue.”
Northampton boss Chris Adams said: “When you look at the team as we have it now, if they all chip away and score the points they are capable of, I’m certain we can put wins on the board.
“I know King’s Lynn had a good home win on Thursday, but that doesn’t matter to me. We’re going there with a level playing field, and with riders who know that track, and we’ll do whatever we can do from there.”
