PREVIEW: IPSWICH v SHEFFIELD (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

LEAGUE leaders Ipswich host fellow play-off qualifiers Sheffield tonight (Thursday) in the final meeting before the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-offs.

The Witches now know they will be heading into a semi-final with Belle Vue, whilst the Tigers will be facing Leicester in the last four.

However, there is still an issue to be resolved as with Leicester’s match at Oxford postponed, Sheffield need to avoid defeat in Suffolk to move into second place, which would give them choice of legs in the semi-final.

Both sides are at full strength with Ipswich including Jason Doyle and Adam Ellis, who would have missed last night’s postponed match at Owlerton due to commitments in Denmark.

Ipswich manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “We want to go into the play-offs high on confidence after a good performance.

“We are in a good run of form after some positive results, and we want to carry that on before the big end-of-season meetings.

“It is as tough a task as you could ask for, one of our closest rivals who we have had many close battles with over the last few years so it should be a good test for the boys.”
