BELLE Vue look to secure their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership play-off place when they host bottom club Birmingham in Manchester tonight (Monday).
The Aces are pleased to be back at the National Speedway Stadium after a tough week on the road saw them go down to defeats at Sheffield and Ipswich, leaving them still one win away from confirming a top four finish.
They face a Brummies side who again operate rider replacement for Jonas Jeppesen with the Dane on a mandatory absence due to illness, whilst Simon Lambert guests for the injured Ben Barker at reserve.
Aces manager Mark Lemon said: “We have a job to do and secure the points. Even though Birmingham have had a hard season, they really must not be underestimated.
“Every rider in their team has produced a strong performance at the National Speedway Stadium at some time. If they click together, it could be a very tricky night.
“It always comes down to the performance we produce. We definitely need to kick it up a level now.
“The next month is going to be very demanding. There’s no doubt we need to find a bit extra if we are going to be successful.”
Brummies boss Chris Adams said: “Belle Vue are a very strong team, especially at home.
“We didn’t do very well when we went up there last time so we hope we can put in a better performance this time around.
“But again we’ve got a patched up team so we know it’s going to be difficult, but the lads will give it their best.”
