LIONS MOVE FOR COOK
LEICESTER have moved to sign Craig Cook following the expiry of his short-term deal with ROWE Motor Oil Premiership rivals Oxford.
The Spires will have Lewis Kerr back in their team next week after his spell on the sidelines, with Cook joining the Lions for a second spell with the club, replacing Drew Kemp at reserve.
Leicester manager Stewart Dickson said: “When I spoke to Craig, he was clear that he has unfinished business at Leicester. It never went according to plan for him last year, for reasons that are well documented including the crash at Edinburgh.
“But he is well up for it, I think he’ll do a job for us, and I’d like to think I’ve got the tools such that I’ll get the right response from him.
“I have a responsibility to the owner and to the supporters to give them the best possible team I can, and unfortunately that meant it was bad news for Drew this morning.
“He’s obviously disappointed, which I expect, but he was very adult-like about it. He knows it’s nothing personal, it’s just the way things are, and we do wish him all the best.”
