EDWARDS STAYING WITH WITCHES

IPSWICH have confirmed Jason Edwards will remain in their Rising Star berth for the remainder of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership season.

Edwards was signed by the Witches last month as an injury replacement for Jordan Jenkins, who subsequently crashed again when racing for Oxford shortly after making his comeback.

It means Edwards will ride for the Foxhall team in their final regular league matches against Sheffield and will retain his place for the play-offs.

Manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “Jason will be carrying on for the rest of the season. He has done very well since coming in and fits in very well, and I’m happy to have him with us.

“It is a big shame to lose Jordan after picking up another injury at Oxford, and he needs time off the bike and time to recover to get himself fit.

“As it turns out we didn’t need to make a decision, but we are delighted to have Jason in the side.”
