PANTHERS ADD GILKES

PETERBOROUGH have added talented youngster Dan Gilkes to their roster as No.8 for the new Premiership campaign.

Gilkes, who previously rode for the club in the Midland Development League, finished third in last year’s British Under-21 Final and could now get top-flight experience with the Panthers along with his Championship and NDL commitments for Plymouth.

He said: “It was great to be asked by Peterborough. They’ve got a good team and obviously a few of the riders I’m in a team with or have been previously, so it will be good with me knowing most of them.

“If I do get the chance to race for them during this season I’m sure it will be a great learning opportunity for me.

“This season is another one where I will be learning plenty and taking on as much information as I can.

“I don’t set any goals apart from having a better season than the last one. Being on the bike as often as I can will be vital for my improvement as a rider.”
