COUNTDOWN FOR TIGERS

SHEFFIELD co-promoter Damien Bates says the club are counting down to their long-awaited Premiership introduction.

Tigers are due to host Peterborough on May 20 with Health Secretary Matt Hancock again indicating this week that government roadmap plans for the further easing of restrictions on May 17 – when Sheffield visit Belle Vue – are firmly on-track.

Bates said: “We are busy behind the scenes getting all our ducks in line ready for the return of speedway to Owlerton.

“There are certain hoops to jump through, but we’ll get there, and as a management team we all met up outdoors on Saturday to talk things through, which was great.

“We are currently upgrading our online ticket sales system and advance tickets will be on sale soon, hopefully in plenty of time for May 20.”
