STARS AND STRIPES FOR BEN FUND

THREE USA riders will now be taking part in the Ben Fund Bonanza at Workington – including two unused members of their Speedway of Nations squad.

Gino Manzares is joined by youngsters Alex Martin and Slater Lightcap, the latter answering a late call to replace Lewis Kerr who is absent for family reasons.

There are two other alterations to the line-up with Ashton Boughen coming in for Kyle Howarth, who has been called up to race in Poland, whilst Joe Thompson replaces Simon Lambert who is unwell.

Dan Thompson had also agreed to race prior to his unfortunate crash in the FIM Speedway of Nations 2 on Friday.

SRBF Chairman Paul Ackroyd said: “The weather forecast for Workington is good, and as part of the fun on the day one of the track staff named Alan is being sponsored to have his head shaved.

“Norick Blodorn, who is thinking of a career as a barber post-speedway, will do the shaving!”
