SLOVAKIAN TEST FOR YOUNGSTERS

GREAT Britain youngsters Dan Thompson and Ace Pijper have made the long trip to Zarnovica in Slovakia to compete in this afternoon’s (Saturday) FIM European Under-19 Semi Final 2.

Thompson, who is in good form, and Pijper, who has spent the week at a training camp in Torun, Poland, will be aiming for a top eight finish and qualification for the Final which takes place in Gorzow, Poland on August 19.

The two British riders will be making the most of their pre-meeting practice on the vast 400-metre track, and to make it even more difficult the draw for the event means both Thompson and Pijper come off the unfavourable gate 4 gate on two occasions.

Also competing is Belle Vue’s Norick Blodorn representing Germany, as well as three of Poland’s next generation, Oskar Paluch, Antoni Mencel and Jakub Krawczyk.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 14.20 UK time.

The Young Lions would like to thank their British Youth sponsors for the supply of tyres for this event to both Dan and Ace.
