PREVIEW: DERBYSHIRE OPEN, BUXTON

BUXTON host the rearrangement of the Derbyshire Open Individual meeting at Hi-Edge today (Sunday).

Twelve riders will battle it out in order to take the title with home No.1 Alfie Bowtell and track record holder Jason Garrity being the pre-meeting favourites.

Along with Bowtell, Bulls regulars Arran Butcher, Luke Harris, Jack Roberts and Jack Shimelt are all included in the field.

Club chief Laurence Rogers said: “Obviously Alfie and Jason will be expected to be amongst the front runners, but there are definitely other contenders with the like of Jack Roberts and Luke Harris who have been riding well around here and Owen Booth who rode really well here on his last visit.

“It’s a case of getting into the semi-finals finishing in the top two and then in the Final it’s 60 seconds when anyone in the Final has the chance to win the title.

“I’m sure it will be an entertaining meeting and one which I’m sure supporters will get behind their favourites.”
