NIGEL – THE FONDEST OF MEMORIES

IT is incredible to believe that it is four years today since we received the devastating news of the loss of our friend and colleague Nigel Pearson.

So much has happened in the sport and the world in general since then, but the sadness and emotion of that Easter weekend and the days and weeks which followed will never be forgotten by those close to him.

In the speedway world, that meant a whole host of people be it riders, promoters, managers or supporters, and that comment could be applied across his work in darts, football, and on his active social scene.

At the BSP Press Office in particular we all had a special friendship and bond with Nigel, and we miss him deeply on a personal and professional level.

His passing was also a huge loss to the broadcasting industry and we can take small comfort nowadays when clips of Nigel’s classic commentaries still emerge.

Please think of Nigel’s wife Kerrie and children Liam, Jake and Sarah on what will be the toughest of days.
