GB TRIO REACH EURO FINAL

ALL three Great Britain representatives have qualified for the European Under-19 Final after coming through their respective semi-finals on Saturday.

Will Cairns of Belle Vue and Poole took top billing as he won the Hungarian semi-final at Debrecen, scoring 14 points from his five rides. That left him one point ahead of Danish rider Jacob Jensen.

Ironically Cairns dropped his only point to fellow GB rider Luke Harrison in Heat 6, with the Scunthorpe and Northampton rider also making it through on ten points.

Meanwhile Cooper Rushen (King’s Lynn and Poole) raced at Czech Republic venue Plzen and finished in a solid fourth place scoring 11 points.

Rushen was kept off the podium by a Polish one-two-three led by Bartosz Banbor, but he still comfortably went through thanks to two race wins and two seconds in his opening four rides.

The Final takes place at Slovenian venue Krsko on September 5.
