FLINT SET FOR COMEBACK

LEON Flint is set to make his return from injury when he represents Great Britain in the European Under-24 Team Qualifier in Germany today (Saturday).

The Sheffield and Glasgow racer has been out since suffering a Type 3 Rockwood shoulder injury last month.

He will team up with Dan Thompson, Sam Hagon, Drew Kemp and Jake Mulford in the event at Ludvigslust which sees GB needing a top two finish against Germany, Czechia and Denmark to reach the Final.

Flint said: “Team GB obviously know the situation that I am in. They fully understand with the injury that we don’t really know how things are fully going to turn out.

“A lot of people have asked me if I’m going to practice beforehand, but in my eyes if I do that I’m just going to be constantly thinking about that niggle here and that niggle there.

“So I think if I just get straight into it, my mind is naturally on my racing then, not the injury.

“Hopefully all goes to plan at the weekend and if it does and if I feel okay afterwards, then the plan is I’ll be back at Sheffield on Monday.”
