BEWLEY SECOND IN GP OPENER

BELLE Vue star Dan Bewley went agonisingly close to an incredible unbeaten performance in Saturday’s FIM Grand Prix of Germany in Landshut.

Bewley raced to a brilliant 15-point maximum in the qualifying races of the series opener before finishing runner-up in the Final as full-time series debutant Kacper Woryna took the win.

Had Bewley gone through the card he would have been the first rider to do so since Leon Madsen at Torun in October 2019.

But the Aces man, who will be back to race for the Manchester club against Northampton at midday on Bank Holiday Monday, was still pleased with his efforts, whilst Robert Lambert was fourth overall with the British duo split by World Champion Bartosz Zmarzlik.

Bewley said: “The track was it was. There was a bit of bouncing around and I enjoyed it, to be fair. It’s not a bad start to the year.

“Congrats to Kacper on his first win. I am looking forward to the next few meetings.”
