PREVIEW: BRITISH U21 SEMI-FINAL, Mildenhall

MILDENHALL open their season by staging the British Under-21 semi-final at West Row today (Sunday).

Six qualifying places are on offer for the Final at Birmingham later in the year, with home hopes resting with Fen Tigers star Jason Edwards who will be amongst the favourites for the meeting, along with fellow Championship regulars Kyle Bickley, Henry Atkins and Nathan Ablitt.

Edwards said: “The main thing is to win every race – you do that and obviously qualification takes care of itself and no need to worry about the points opponents are getting.

“To be honest that’s the attitude I take into every meeting – and in this individual format with no second chances in semis and race-off, it’s about racing every other rider in the field and getting the business done.”

Two late changes see reserves James Laker and Alex Goldsborough promoted into the event in place of Gregor Millar and Luke Killeen.

LINE-UP: Vinnie Foord, Jason Edwards, Harry McGurk, Ben Trigger, Nathan Ablitt, Archie Freeman, Alex Goldsborough, Jacob Fellows, Sam McGurk, Sam Hagon, Henry Atkins, Kai Ward, Mickie Simpson, Kyle Bickley, James Laker, Kyran Lyden. Reserves: William Robertson, Jody Scott.
