PIRATES CHASE PAIRS TITLE

POOLE promoter Dan Ford says he has high hopes of home success when the club hosts the Championship Best Pairs at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.

The Pirates, who have raced through the league campaign with a 100 per cent home record, will be represented by skipper Zach Cook and No.1 Richard Lawson in the showpiece meeting.

But with each of their rivals also declaring their strongest line-ups, a terrific battle for the silverware is expected.

Ford said: “Zach has been pretty much unbeatable around here in recent weeks, possibly all season to be fair.

“Whilst by his own admission Richard has seen a dip in his own form, the pair of them don’t get very many last places and that is key in Pairs competitions.”
