BRUMMIES SNAP UP VISSING

BIRMINGHAM have completed the signing of Danish star Claus Vissing to return for a second spell with the club.

Vissing, who appeared for the Brummies in the old Elite League in 2011, is back in British Speedway for the first time since a superb 2019 campaign in which he helped Swindon to the Premiership title and also reached the Championship Grand Final with Glasgow.

Birmingham co-promoter Laurence Rogers said: “It’s been a long and complicated process, but we are thrilled to welcome Claus back to British Speedway.

“He’s a quality rider and I know he can do a good job for us. He will revel in the new Perry Barr track conditions after all the hard work we’ve put in on the track.

“The deal took a while, not financially, but because of commitments Claus has back in Denmark and we needed things to fall into place for everything to happen.

“Thankfully everything worked out and we look forward to seeing him in Birmingham colours. I know the fans will make him welcome.”
