ZACH’S BACK FOR PIRATES

AUSTRALIAN racer Zach Cook has signed on for a third season at Poole where he will once again join brother Ben in the line-up.

Cook will start fourth in the Pirates’ averages on a 6.22 average although his scoring rate in the closing stages of the 2023 season was far higher – and co-promoter Danny Ford is backing him to keep that up next year.

Ford said: “I am guessing this won’t come as much of a surprise to our fans as Zach has made a big impact on the club since we signed him fully in 2022, and his inclusion in the side gives us possibly one of the strongest top fours in the division.

“His performances in what is described as the ‘engine room’ of the side have been immense.

“I really believe he can improve beyond that and push for a heat-leader berth.”
