TIGERS WIN, BANDITS BOUNCE BACK

GLASGOW were 47-43 winners over Berwick in the Cab Direct Championship with a late rally from the Bandits leaving them in a stronger position ahead of tonight’s (Saturday) return fixture.

The Tigers were coasting after Heat 10 with a 14-point advantage, but new signing Jonas Jeppesen and skipper Drew Kemp inspired the visitors’ response as they recorded a string of race advantages.

Chris Harris led the Glasgow scoring with 11+2 and recent signing Villads Nagel impressed on 10+1, whilst Jeppesen (13+2) and Kemp (12) were in the major points for the Bandits.

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “I have to say I’m disappointed with the final outcome, winning by just four. 

“We were in control of the meeting but threw away a lot of points, especially in the final two heats.

“That’s made the task much harder at Berwick. We are relying on guests which is never a good thing. But our top two Chris (Harris) and Kyle (Howarth) can take extra rides so we hope we can still get the job done.”

Both sides are forced into changes for the return with the Bandits tracking Ben Trigger at No.2 as a guest for Sam Hagon, who is absent on European Under-24 duties.

The same meeting in France takes Dan Thompson, Leon Flint and Villads Nagel out of the Tigers’ side, with Will Cairns and Declan Kennedy deputising along with rider replacement.
