REDCAR SPEEDWAY STATEMENT

THE following statement has been issued by Redcar Speedway after the abandonment of last night’s (Sunday) BSN Series semi-final clash with Glasgow:

During Heat 14 of last night’s semi-final fixture against Glasgow, an incident occurred in which a bike cleared the safety fence and struck the secondary barrier beyond it.
As a result, three supporters required attention from the on-site medical team, with two taken to James Cook University Hospital for precautionary checks. We are pleased to confirm that both were discharged later that evening, and all three supporters are now safely at home with no serious injuries.
Redcar Speedway would like to extend our sincere thanks to the attending medical personnel from Medics UK and our dedicated volunteer staff for their prompt and professional response to the situation.

British Speedway extends our best wishes to all involved in the incident, and we thank the medical services and staff for their prompt action.

Details of the status of the fixture will be communicated by the Speedway Control Bureau in due course.
