PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH v POOLE (MAXICAB KO CUP)
POOLE kick off their defence of the MAXiCab KO Cup when they head to Southern rivals Plymouth in the first leg of their quarter-final tie tonight (Saturday).
The Pirates have a 100 per cent Cup record against the Gladiators in the modern era, with the sides being paired in the competition for the third season in the last four.
Plymouth bring in Chris Harris to guest at No.1 with Nicolai Klindt racing in Poland, whilst with Joe Thompson on SGP2 duty at Glasgow, Zaine Kennedy steps into the middle order.
New averages for the home side mean Mitchell Cluff drops to reserve alongside Ben Trigger.
Pirates promoter Dan Ford said: “It doesn’t really make any difference what we have done against teams in the past, it is what we are capable of doing on the night.
“We suffered a narrow loss down there in the BSN Series and that hurt, so a win on Saturday would not only give us an advantage moving into next Wednesday’s return, but also restore the bragging rights, which we always want, especially against our local rivals.”
PLYMOUTH: Chris Harris, Alfie Bowtell, Zaine Kennedy, Lasse Fredriksen, Ben Barker, Mitchell Cluff, Ben Trigger.
POOLE: Richard Lawson, Tobias Thomsen, Anders Rowe, Zach Cook, Lewis Kerr, Paul Starke, Darryl Ritchings.
SCB Referee: Wayne Jarvis
