PREVIEW: OXFORD V WORKINGTON (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

OXFORD round off their home Cab Direct Championship campaign with the visit of Workington to Cowley tonight (Wednesday).

The Cheetahs were to welcome back Erik Riss for the meeting, but an update on Wednesday morning states his health issues have returned and he is unable to race.

The Comets are also adrift of the play-off places and they bring in Chris Harris to guest for Jonas Jeppesen who is racing in Denmark, and Jason Edwards for former Cheetahs rider Troy Batchelor who is still ruled out with a knee injury.

Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “We’ve got some momentum going in recent weeks at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium and we want to keep that going and extend our unbeaten run at home to six matches.

“A few weeks ago I said we wanted to re-establish the feelgood factor at Oxford and I feel we’ve done that – the buzz from the terraces is back and thank you to the supporters for turning up and getting behind the boys.

“We won’t under-estimate Workington by any means, especially since they have two very capable guests.”
