PREVIEW: GLASGOW v WORKINGTON (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

GLASGOW boss Cami Brown expects a tough test as Workington visit Ashfield tonight (Friday) with plenty of track knowledge in their ranks.

The Tigers got their Cab Direct Championship campaign off to a winning start against Plymouth last Friday, bouncing back from disappointing exits in the Cup competitions.

Meanwhile the Comets, who suffered double defeat in the league last weekend, are boosted by the return from injury of former Glasgow star Craig Cook, whilst 2025 Tigers rider Max Perry lines up at reserve. Mickie Simpson guests once again for the injured Vinnie Foord.

Brown said: “The club stands firm that this is a very good team and every rider needs to deliver more. If they can do that, we can reach the play-offs. 

“Last week underlined that philosophy. It was Sam Hagon and Freddy Hodder who won us the meeting, they came up with the key moments. 

“The next challenge is Workington. This is a Comets side packed with riders with ability who like Ashfield. It’s another very hard battle we face.”

Comets boss James Denham said: “It’s imperative we bounce back this weekend. We have a full-strength top five now Craig is back, and we need to capitalise on that.

“Glasgow is always a tough place to go, but we have Craig and Max who have ridden for them in the past and also Jonas (Jeppesen) and Tate (Zischke) go well there historically, so the lads are determined to put things right and get some points on the board.”
