POSTPONED: EDINBURGH v GLASGOW (SCOTTISH CUP)
WITH heavy rain forecast, Friday’s Edinburgh/Glasgow match in the Scottish Cup has been postponed, and it will now take place on Friday October 9.
FIERCE rivals Edinburgh and Glasgow meet for the final time this season as they resolve the Scottish Cup at Armadale tonight (Friday).
The Tigers are the defending holders but it is the Monarchs who carry a six point lead into their home leg after an impressive display at Ashfield earlier in the season.
The hosts bring in Tate Zischke to guest for the injured Dan Thompson, whilst the Tigers have Nick Morris covering for the retired Kyle Howarth, whilst Vinnie Foord is in at reserve for Mario Hausl who has a back injury.
Monarchs boss Alex Harkess said: “Like all sports you’re only as good as your last match! This is the one the public will take into the winter in their memory.
“So we want to do very, very well in it, that’s what it’s all about to try and finish on a high.
“Recent matches have been low key for us so Friday is an opportunity to finish on a high.”
Glasgow manager Cami Brown said: “I do think we have the team to turn this around and win the Scottish Cup.
“It would be nice to go out on a high for our fans. I know they will still come out in force to support us at Armadale.
“It’s been a difficult season for many reasons but if we can pull this off, it’s a nice way to go into the long winter ahead.”
