COMETS KEEN FOR NEXT STEP

WORKINGTON promoter Andrew Bain believes his class of 2025 can exceed the achievements of the Comets’ opening season back at Cab Direct Championship level.

Fraser Bowes, Jye Etheridge, Jacob Hook and Vinnie Foord have all joined the Northside outfit who reached the play-offs this year.

As one of three returning riders, Troy Batchelor will step up to take over the captaincy next season whilst Antti Vuolas and Tate Zischke are also back at the GT Tyres Arena.

Bain said: “We are sure this team will be one to watch, and once again it’s great we have introduced into British Speedway some more exciting new talent in Fraser Bowes.

“Last season was a great achievement to reach the play-offs, but we need to go again and go that one (or two) steps further.

“I think the team we have secured for next season is a formidable one. Of course, we haven’t turned a wheel for next season yet, but everything is looking really positive.

“We have signed the team we want, the uptake for season tickets has been outstanding, and we are also retaining and gaining new sponsorship partners for next season already.”
