BEARS READ THE RIOT ACT

REDCAR manager Gavin Parr says the pressure is on this weekend after a disappointing start to the season.

The Bears lost by 14 points in their BSN Series opener at Scunthorpe before throwing away a 12-point lead to be beaten at home by Workington last Friday in one of the big shocks so far this year.

The reverse fixtures take place this weekend and Parr is demanding a reaction, starting at home to the Scorpions on Friday.

He said: “Myself and the promotion have had some long and hard chats with the riders over the last week. The performance against Workington is not what we want or not what we expect of them, and the riders know that.

“I know it’s still very early in the season and the riders are getting their set-ups sorted, but the paying public do deserve more.”
