BOVINGDON WINS AT BELLE VUE

THE third round of the 250cc British Youth Championship took place at Belle Vue on Sunday where Oliver Bovingdon, who is in his first season competing in the class, clinched his first win.

Bovingdon, who was British Youth Champion in the 125cc class in both 2023 and 2024, has stepped up this year and based on Sunday’s performances will be again challenging for a title.

Unfortunately, due to the time restraints and the curfew at Belle Vue on Sunday, the meeting Final was unable to take place, and therefore the final classification was based on the qualifying heats where all riders had competed in four heats. 

With Bovingdon and current series leader Casper Kluczniak both ending up on ten points, Bovingdon was awarded the win on the countback system due to winning three of his heats, whereas Kluzniak only had two wins.

Prior to this round Bovingdon was 11 points behind Kluczniak in the standings but now with his maximum score on Sunday, he has closed the gap to just a nine-point difference with four rounds to go.

Seth Norman and Ollie Binns tied on nine points, but again with Norman having the superior race wins he was awarded third on the day.

Next round of the British Youth Championship takes place at Redcar on August 30.
