JENKINS JOINING BANDITS

BERWICK have moved to sign Jordan Jenkins on a 28-day deal to cover the continued injury absence of Australian racer Reid Battye.

Jenkins joins the Bandits after recently leaving Redcar, with Battye still some way off a return to racing after suffering serious back injuries in the KO Cup quarter-final win over Workington.

Manager Stewart Dickson said: “Reid is progressing well but with so many vital meetings ahead we did not want to rely on the availability of guests. It is always best to have seven of our own riders on board.

“When Jordan became available we were straight onto the phone and fully expect the move to Berwick to help him get back to the sort of form we all know he is capable of.”

Jenkins will make his Bandits debut when they face Glasgow in June 13 in what will be their first meeting for seven weeks, with a busy spell over the following three weeks set to feature seven meetings.
