NO BREAKS FOR NHJ

WORKINGTON boss James Denham has confirmed Danish youngster Niklas Holm Jakobsen avoided serious injury in his crash at the GT Tyres Arena on Saturday.

Holm Jakobsen was withdrawn from the narrow win over Scunthorpe with a laceration to his right thumb after the Heat 6 incident, putting the Comets’ lower order under pressure as Vinnie Foord was making his return after nearly two months out.

Fortunately for the hosts, recent signing Max Perry came up trumps with a score of 7+2 as they held on for a first league victory of 2026.

Denham said: “Niklas just needs a bit of rest and recovery and he should be good to go again soon.

“For Vinnie, it was his first meeting back after injury and some of those close races took a lot out of him, so he just needs a little more track time to shake off the rust.”
