PREVIEW: REDCAR v SCUNTHORPE (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

REDCAR have declared Simon Lambert as a new signing to make his debut against former club Scunthorpe tonight (Friday).

Lambert was recently released by the Scorpions in favour of Dan Gilkes, but he has now come into the Bears team in place of Jordan Jenkins, ironically opening up against his previous employers.

There is one further change to the Redcar team tonight with former favourite Danny King guesting for Nicolai Klindt, who is ruled out with a speedway injury.

The Scorpions travel at full-strength at the start of two Cab Direct Championship matches in two days as they also visit Workington on Saturday.

Scunthorpe manager David Howe said: “The team is working well as a unit and improving all the time.

“We got battered at Redcar earlier in the year, and we want to give a better account of ourselves this time around and give Redcar a match.

“As for Workington, we were close there, but Comets had a guest in Cooper Rushen at reserve who swung it their way at the end of the meeting. I don’t see why we can’t pick up a win.”

REDCAR: Danny King, Simon Lambert, Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards, Jake Allen, Ace Pijper, Jody Scott.

SCUNTHORPE: Josh Pickering, Connor Mountain, Nathan Ablitt, Luke Harrison, Michael Palm Toft, Ryan Ingram, Dan Gilkes.

SCB Referee: Gary Allen
