PREVIEW: SHEFFIELD v IPSWICH (ROWE MOTOR OIL PREM)

SHEFFIELD stage their first home ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture of the season tonight (Thursday) with reigning  champions Ipswich the visitors.

Having being eliminated from the Knockout Cup and having lost their league opener at King’s Lynn last week, the Tigers are extra keen to get a win on the board.

The Witches did notch their first league points on Bank Holiday Monday when they overcame the Stars at Foxhall, and they include former Sheffield riders Tobiasz Musielak, Danny King and Jason Edwards.

With Philip Hellstrom-Bangs still serving a Swedish federation ban, Plymouth’s Daniel Klima steps in to guest at reserve for Ipswich.

Sheffield manager Simon Stead said: “I want us to start getting off to a stronger start in the opening set of races to give us a little bit of an edge, and hopefully from there the lads can maintain their nights from there on in to help deliver the results we’re all craving.

“Ipswich have built another pretty solid side, we always seem to have some good head-to-heads against the Witches and this is another intriguing one, I don’t think anyone could argue with that.”

King said: “Sheffield is a tough place to go, but I think we can go there and do something. It’s important to keep it as close as possible if we are going to lose, but I think with the team we have and the way we are going, there is no reason why we can’t go there and get a result out of it.

“It’s certainly going to be tough. We are all going to have to be on our game. It is going to take a full team to get that job done.”
