PREVIEW: NORTHAMPTON v KING’S LYNN (PREM KOC)

NORTHAMPTON host King’s Lynn in their second home fixture as they look for a win to build on the success of their opening meeting at the Shaleway.

The injury-hit Foxes have raced four of their first five matches on the road and went down to two defeats at Belle Vue and Leicester on Bank Holiday Monday.

It’s the final fixture in the southern section of the Premiership KO Cup, and the visitors will be keen for the track time with a league visit to come next month.

Northampton bring in Zach Cook to guest for the injured Matej Zagar, whilst Lewis Kerr replaces Niels-Kristian Iversen who is due for further hospital checks today as he seeks permission to fly and join up with the team next week.

Foxes boss Chris Adams said: “I certainly want him back for our first home league match, and hopefully he’ll be back before that.

“Elsewhere we’ve seen some inconsistency a couple of times with this team so far, even within one meeting, but the riders are all working hard to try and cure it.

“It’s still early days, so we move on to the next meeting and I’m sure against King’s Lynn it will be an exciting night of racing entertainment.”

King’s Lynn manager Rob Lyon said: “It’s a little bit of a dead rubber for us because it’s a Cup match, but it will still be good experience for everyone.

“It gives us a chance to get some knowledge of the track and set-ups and whatever, ready for when we go back there in the league in June.”
