PREVIEW: REDCAR v NEWCASTLE SELECT (TTT)

REDCAR launch their 2026 season by renewing North-East rivalries as they host a Newcastle Select side at the ECCO Arena tonight (Friday).

The Tyne/Tees Trophy has become a popular opener and an opportunity for Diamonds fans to show their backing for their club which folded in 2022.

Last season’s match boiled up to a dramatic finale with Charles Wright and Jason Edwards snatching a 46-44 win for the Bears with a 5-1 in a last-heat decider.

Jordan Jenkins and Jake Allen are both back for another spell with the home side, and they make their latest debuts tonight, whilst Danny King – who helped Redcar to the BSN Series trophy last season – leads the visitors, who track several riders with connections to both clubs.
