NO HURRY FOR BANDITS

BERWICK boss Stewart Dickson says he’s in no rush to confirm the club’s final signing as they assess their options this winter.

The Bandits will have at least two new faces in 2026 having moved for Victor Palovaara and Lasse Fredriksen whilst Peter Kildemand, Nick Morris and Jack Smith return from this year’s team, and Jye Etheridge rejoins from Cab Direct Championship rivals Workington.

Dickson said: “We are taking our time, looking to get the right man. Without giving too much away we are keeping an eye on the Australian Championships and there are one or two foreign riders who have ridden in the Championship before along with some more established Championship riders.

“Along with (club owner) Jamie Courtney, (co-promoters) Steve Dews and Sarah Bulman I have been assessing our options.

“I expect Nick Morris to ride considerably above his average, but if the seventh rider doesn’t at the very least maintain the four-point average then any advantage in that is lost.

“There’s probably only one other club looking for a similar rider, so we can take our time and make absolutely sure that we get right what is a vital signing for us.”
