PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH v POOLE (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

POOLE require a maximum of one point from their trip to Plymouth tonight (Saturday) to secure their place in the Cab Direct Championship play-offs.

The Pirates have already won three times on the road this season but they face a battle to finish in top spot with Glasgow just three points behind and having two matches in hand.

The aggregate point will also be a consideration at the Coliseum as the Gladiators restricted Poole to just a six-point margin of victory when the sides met at Wimborne Road in midweek.

Plymouth have Kye Thomson standing in as a ‘restricted facility’ guest for the unavailable Nicolai Klindt at No.1, with Ben Barker declared in the side despite his crash on Wednesday.

Former Redcar rider Tom Spencer has been declared in the Gladiators’ official one-to-seven as a replacement for the injured Arran Butcher.

Pirates skipper Zach Cook said: “Both Paul (Starke) and Toby (Tobias Thomsen) have been down there recently, and we will be using the information about the track that they will have picked up to hopefully get the right set-ups so we can defend the six points from our home leg.”
