PREVIEW: REDCAR v GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

REDCAR host Glasgow in a clash of two sides currently in the Cab Direct Championship top four at the ECCO Arena tonight (Friday).

The Bears are aiming to make it three wins on the bounce after securing two good results last weekend, whilst the Tigers are second in the table having taken maximum points against Berwick.

Redcar operate rider replacement for Erik Riss whilst a change of averages sees Jake Mulford drop to reserve, and as he is absent on SGP2 duty Ben Trigger steps in. Meanwhile Glasgow also operate rider replacement, in their case for SGP2 rider Dan Thompson.

Bears boss Gavin Parr said: “I see the top three cancelling each other out, so the reserves will be vital. We outscored Glasgow at reserve (in the reverse fixture which Tigers won 48-42) so for us to win we will need to do that again.

“Ben Trigger has a point to prove and he rides the ECCO Arena excellently, I’ve got no doubt he can do the job for us.

“Last weekend put us in a great position for the play-offs so I’m hoping we can get a result with our backs against the wall.”
