ACES ON TOP AT BRUM

BELLE Vue raced to their fourth away win of the season in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership with a 48-42 result at Birmingham.

Aces’ popular German star Norick Blodorn delivered one of his best performances in British Speedway as he was unbeaten in his first four rides which saw him defeat the Brummies’ top riders Tobiasz Musielak and Matej Zagar.

Blodorn, who scored 11+1, was involved in 5-1s with skipper Brady Kurtz in Heats 5 and 11, and the visitors went 12 points up before a late rally from the hosts saw them halve the deficit.

Musielak picked up 12+2 from six rides for the hosts and Keynan Rew was also in double figures with 11.

Aces boss Mark Lemon said: “We came here to do a job, and I was really impressed with the boys. It hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for us in the past at Birmingham.

“Norick being fit certainly helps. Tate’s (Zischke) performance shone through tonight which didn’t really reflect in the points he got. 

“But it’s a team effort, we were solid and that’s very important when we start coming to the business end of the season.

 “It was good to see Norick deliver such a strong performance because he has been under the weather. He’s proved a point that he can actually produce a strong display.”

Musielak said: “It was another frustrating meeting for us. It was very close actually into the middle of the meeting and we were hoping for a good ending of the match.

“But it didn’t go the way of the plan and whilst we finished strong with Keynan in Heat 15 it was too late.”
