PREVIEW: REDCAR v POOLE (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

REDCAR star Danny King says tonight’s (Friday) Cab Direct Championship clash with leaders Poole is the beginning of a defining weekend for the club.

Recent inactivity has seen the Bears slip to second from bottom in the standings, but they have the opportunity to climb the ladder again with the home match against the Pirates followed up by a trip to resurgent Workington on Saturday.

However, the North-East side are still without Erik Riss due to illness whilst Jake Mulford is on international duty, with Antti Vuolas and Jacob Hook coming in to guest.

Poole operate rider replacement for Anders Rowe who is racing in Poland, with the club stating it was not his choice to miss their fixture.

King said: “These two matches, starting with Poole, are huge for our season.

“We have the team who can do the job at home against the Pirates and I’m confident in our chances.

“Although we haven’t ridden at home for a few weeks, I think we are riding the ECCO Arena well this season which bodes well for tonight.”

Pirates star Lewis Kerr said: “Redcar is one of my favourite tracks and I am looking forward to going there on Friday.”
