EASTER MONDAY REVIEW
WOLVERHAMPTON enjoyed a perfect Easter Monday with home and away wins over Belle Vue to keep their League Cup hopes very much alive.
Wolves won 48-42 in a last-heat decider at the NSS and then triumphed 50-40 at Monmore to set up a group decider at Sheffield next month.
Ryan Douglas (13+1) and Sam Masters (11+2) starred in Manchester with Masters (12+2) and Nick Morris (12+1) top-scoring at home, and Steve Worrall enjoyed a profitable day against his old club.
Rising Star Tom Brennan collected 10+2 for the Aces in their home meeting whilst Charles Wright scored a superb 16 in the away match, unbeaten until Heat 15.
Meanwhile King’s Lynn made a storming start to the season with a 48-42 win at Peterborough to blow the Southern group wide open.
Niels-Kristian Iversen and new skipper Josh Pickering both scored 11, with Iversen winning Heat 15 to secure victory after the Panthers had threatened a comeback.
Chris Harris (12+1) and Scott Nicholls (11+2) led the way for the home side but Michael Palm Toft was ruled out with concussion after a heavy Heat 6 crash.
