WSRA CONTINUE NDL BACKING
BRITISH Speedway is delighted to announce the continuation of their partnership with the World Speedway Riders’ Association for the new National Development League season.
The competition in 2025 will once again be known as the WSRA National Development League, and the six member clubs are working with the WSRA in promoting the charity.
The WSRA have continued their arrangement from last year and will cover the league once again.
They have a global membership which has expanded to cover promoters and supporters along with ex-riders, and they run an active programme of events in support of the sport, including help for wheelchair-bound members.
Leicester Lion Cubs will defend their WSRA National Development League title this season, whilst the first fixture of the campaign features Edinburgh hosting Middlesbrough on Saturday April 12.
British Speedway chairman Rob Godfrey said: “We are really pleased that the WSRA are remaining on board with the NDL, and our thanks to the committee for taking the decision.
“It’s excellent to have them involved in our ongoing efforts for development of young riders, and our clubs are very happy to continue to promote the charity.”
“The WSRA is very pleased to be involved with the NDL again this year”, said WSRA Chairman, Bert Harkins.
“We ex-riders in the Association have had our ‘Day in the Sun’ and now we want to try to help the young riders to progress in the sport.
“We have our annual ‘Celebration of Speedway’ Exhibition at Hertfordshire Zoo on Sunday March 16 and hope to see as many riders and ex-riders come along on that day, with NDL riders very welcome to join us.”
