SPRINGER BACK FOR LION CUBS
LEICESTER have signed 16-year-old Sonny Springer for a second season as they plot their defence of the National Development League title.
Springer, who almost doubled his average in his debut NDL campaign and moved into the main body of the team, is the second member of the victorious Lion Cubs side to return, alongside new captain Max James.
He said: “I am comfortable with Leicester, I’ve dialled the track in now, and I’m more confident around the people and I know what to expect.
“I really thought I would have stayed at reserve for the whole season this year as we had a pretty strong team, but we were going in the right direction from the start and when I got moved to No.2 it definitely brought me on.
“My targets for 2025 are to get as many points as I can and set a better average than last season.
“I feel like we can win another title, Leicester have won a few now and it’s a great team, but we know anything can happen in speedway.”
