PREVIEW: OXFORD v BELLE VUE (WSRA NDL)

OXFORD bid to extend their 100 per cent record in the WSRA National Development League when they host Belle Vue at Cowley today (Sunday).

The Chargers have won all three of their NDL matches so far and will look to close to within two points of the other unbeaten club, Leicester, who they visit next weekend.

The home side are still without long-term injury victim Alex Spooner who is yet to appear this season, and they will hand Max Broadhurst an opportunity at No.2.

Meanwhile the Colts track Mickie Simpson and Eli Meadows as guests for the injured Luke Muff and the unavailable Harry McGurk.

Chargers captain Luke Killeen said: “It’s fantastic that we’ve won our opening three meetings of the season and we want to keep the momentum going and beat Belle Vue.

“People can point out that we’ve won all three of our meetings and that Belle Vue have lost all three of theirs, but there’s no way that we will under-estimate them.

“The moment you do that, you put yourself on the back foot. Belle Vue don’t look like a poor team and we will treat them with respect.”

Colts co-boss Graham Goodwin said: “The fact that welcome back both Freddy Hodder and our newly crowned British U21 Champion Sam Hagon to the team for today’s match is a huge boost both to us and to our chances.

“We look at how the senior Aces performed at Sandy Lane recently, given a lot of their boys had never seen the track, and their performance against the Spires gives us more encouragement.

“And though we’re still missing a couple of our usual 1-7, we strongly believe in these guys and I feel like we are in a good position and have nothing to lose.”

OXFORD: Luke Killeen, Max Broadhurst, Jason Garrad, Jacob Clouting, Jody Scott, Ashton Vale, Senna Summers.
BELLE VUE: Sam Hagon, Chad Wirtzfeld, Matt Marson, Mickie Simpson, Freddy Hodder, Eli Meadows, Jack Shimelt.
