PREVIEW: LEICESTER v SHEFFIELD (WSRA NDL)

LEICESTER defend their 100 per cent record in the WSRA NDL when they host Sheffield today (Sunday) looking to make it five wins out of five.

New averages for the Lion Cubs see Luke Crang and Sonny Springer move up from reserve, with Arran Butcher and Vinnie Foord moving into those positions.

The Tiger Cubs welcome back Nathan Ablitt after he missed their first meeting due to injury, but Stene Pijper is sidelined with a scaphoid injury and Harry McGurk comes in to guest. They operate rider replacement for the unavailable Sheldon Davies.

Lion Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “Our focus will be to get another win, as after this meeting we will have just one home match left and four away.

“So this is vital in our push to move further ahead at the top of the NDL.”

Sheffield assistant boss Paul Tatam said: “It will be a very difficult match as Leicester have got a good team with riders whose averages have all gone up.

“We’re using R/R at No.2 which is not ideal but the lads are all up for it so hopefully we can give Leicester a good run for their money.”

LEICESTER: Joe Thompson, Sonny Springer, Tom Spencer, Luke Crang, Max James, Arran Butcher, Vinnie Foord.
SHEFFIELD: Nathan Ablitt, Sheldon Davies r/r, Mickie Simpson, Luke Harrison, Ace Pijper, Harry McGurk, Kean Dicken.
SCB Referee: Dave Watters
