PREVIEW: LEICESTER v OXFORD (WSRA NDL)
LEICESTER and Oxford meet in a crunch WSRA NDL clash at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park today (Sunday) – where something has to give in the title race.
Both the Lion Cubs and the Chargers have 100 per cent records so far in 2024 with the home side having won all five of their matches whilst the visitors have four out of four.
Leicester are at full strength whilst Oxford bring in Connor Coles to guest for Jason Garrad who was injured at Berwick on Saturday, and Sam Woods steps in for the injured Alex Spooner.
Lion Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “This is a massive meeting with both sides unbeaten so far this season, so we need to give our all to win again.
“Oxford are a strong side again this year, but obviously we want to win on Sunday and get a good lead, because the aggregate points are going to be vital in the league standings as well, especially with there being no play-offs this year.”
Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “We have to put our sensible head on, we built a team for progression, with riders who lack experience.
“They are doing a great job, doubling their averages, and they are determined to have a good go at Leicester and see what they can do.”
LEICESTER: Joe Thompson, Sonny Springer, Tom Spencer, Luke Crang, Max James, Arran Butcher, Vinnie Foord.
