PREVIEW: LEICESTER v MIDDLESBROUGH (WSRA NDL)

LEICESTER will be going for a hat-trick of wins in the WSRA National Development League when they host newcomers Middlesbrough today (Sunday).

The Lion Cubs already have four points on the board after victories at Belle Vue and at home to Edinburgh, and they track an unchanged line-up after defeating the Monarchs Academy.

Meanwhile it’s a first appearance in the NDL for the Tigers who are led by regular Redcar reserves Jake Mulford and Ben Trigger, the latter being a former Lion Cubs rider.

Leicester manager Dave Howard said: “Middlesbrough have a very experienced and quite strong top five, which will be a challenge for us.

“But all of our team will give their all to aim to get a victory, and the track experience they gained against Edinburgh will boost us for Sunday.”

Tigers skipper Danny Phillips said: “To captain and ride for my hometown club is a real proud moment for me, and overall I think it will be a really good year.

“Leicester always put out a strong side at this level. Also, only Ben and Jake have had matches, whilst Leicester have had a couple of meetings at this level already.”

LEICESTER: Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Tom Spencer, Arran Butcher, Max James, Luke Crang, Sonny Springer.
MIDDLESBROUGH: Jake Mulford, Ben Rathbone, Danny Phillips, Jamie Halder, Ben Trigger, William Hocaniuk, Jamie Etherington.
