PREVIEW: LEICESTER v KING’S LYNN (WSRA NDL)
LEICESTER host King’s Lynn in the penultimate WSRA NDL fixture at the Hydroscand Arena today (Sunday, 5pm).
The Lion Cubs are likely to finish runners-up in the final standings whilst an away win for the Young Stars would lift them into the top half of the table.
Former Leicester title winner Vinnie Foord guests for the injured Freddy Hodder with Emerson Betty coming in at reserve, whilst the visitors track Archie Strong in place of the injured Sam Woods.
Lion Cubs manager Jen Crossland said: “We’re expecting a tough test against a King’s Lynn side who are very strong at the top.
“But again we’ll be telling the riders to go out and enjoy it with no pressure, and they showed what they could do at Buxton last week which was a fantastic result.”
Young Stars boss Jason Pipe said: “We go into Sunday’s meeting as the underdogs, but looking at our team on paper, we look to have our strongest team yet this season. It’s just a shame the season isn’t starting now!
“But as we know, meetings are not raced on paper. We have a team now who are very much capable of going to Leicester on Sunday and picking up all three points, if they can all ride to their capabilities and how much they want it.”
LEICESTER: Vinnie Foord, Max Perry R/R, Ben Morley, Seth Norman, Ryan Ingram, Emerson Betty, Eli Meadows.
KING’S LYNN: Simon Lambert, Mickie Simpson, Dan Gilkes, Ollie Binns, Jake Mulford, Archie Strong, Kyran Lyden.
SCB Referee: Phil Griffin
