PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v MIDDLESBROUGH (WSRA NDL)

EDINBURGH and Middlesbrough clash twice in under 24 hours in the WSRA National Development League this weekend – starting at Armadale tonight (Friday).

The Monarchs Academy are seeking to get off the mark having not raced at home for nearly three months, whilst the Tigers took a home win over Sheffield last week.

The visitors bring in Matt Marson to guest for the unavailable Ben Trigger, whilst it’s a big couple of meetings for Edinburgh reserve Kyran Lyden, who faces his hometown club.

Lyden said: “I am a local boy to Middlesbrough so when the fixtures came out this was the one I looked for first. This will be a big one for me and I have made sure I am ready for these fixtures.

“If you look at our 1-7 then we have riders all the way that can beat anyone in any opposition, we just need to start doing it and build some momentum the rest of the way.”

Tigers star Ben Rathbone said: “We have faced some good teams away from home and on the whole I think we have performed well.

“We haven’t had much luck away from home but you can make your own luck! Tonight is a really good opportunity to get our first away win of 2024.”

EDINBURGH: Connor Coles, Mason Watson, Sam McGurk, Dayle Wood, Max Perry, Mark Parker, Kyran Lyden.
MIDDLESBROUGH: Jake Mulford, Kai Ward, Danny Phillips, Jamie Halder, Matt Marson, Ben Rathbone, William Hocaniuk.
SCB Referee: Willie Dishington
