PREVIEW: BUXTON v OXFORD (WSRA NDL)

BUXTON bid to get off the mark in the WSRA National Development League when they host champions Oxford at Hi-Edge today (Sunday).

The Bulls saw encouraging signs in a recent defeat at King’s Lynn, and they have Ben Whalley guesting for Jack Smith whilst Will Boraston makes his debut at reserve.

The Chargers are still without Senna Summers due to a knee injury, with rider replacement in operation, and Emerson Betty steps in at No.6 for the retired Mason Watson.

Buxton manager Laurence Rogers said: “We are in for another tough meeting and hope we can gain our first win of the season.

“They have some very good riders in their line-up and we will need to be at our best, and I’m sure the lads will be eager to get points on the board.”

Oxford boss Peter Schroeck said: “It’s a track I’ve never visited before, so I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been told it’s quite unique, while they’ve put plenty of investment into Buxton Speedway this season, so I’m going to enjoy seeing the set-up. The WSRA National League is the grassroots of British Speedway.

“As usual, I’m just asking for the boys to put in their all on and we’ll see where that takes us.”

BUXTON: Alfie Bowtell, Jack Shimelt, Luke Harris, Arran Butcher, Ben Whalley, Will Boraston, Jack Roberts.

OXFORD: Jody Scott, Senna Summers R/R, Harry Fletcher, Ashton Vale, Darryl Ritchings, Emerson Betty, Max Broadhurst.

SCB Referee: Mick Bates
