OXFORD CHARGE CLEAR

OXFORD extended their lead at the top of the WSRA National Development League with a 54-36 home win over Belle Vue.

The victory gave the Chargers the aggregate point and it means they are now five points clear of Leicester and Edinburgh, having won six of their seven matches.

Skipper Jody Scott led the way with 14 points against the Colts, with Ashton Vale (11+2), Darryl Ritchings (10+2) and guest Jamie Halder (10+1) all in double figures, whilst Will Cairns scored 12 for the visitors and ended Scott’s maximum hopes in Heat 15.

Vale said: “It’s unreal that the Chargers have won six out of seven meetings.

“There’s a bit of banter with this side. We all get along and we always talk during meetings.

“We’re just a bunch of lads having fun. We’re in a good position, so we’ll just keep our heads screwed on and see how it goes.”
